Amusement park ride proves a nightmare

It is the nightmare that lurks in the back of the mind of anyone who braves a theme park ride.

Being left hanging upside down in fear for your life.

Riders on a Pennsylvania amusement park ride were left hanging in midair after a ride malfunction earlier this week, Travel Mole reported.

The funsters were left suspended upside-down in the air on the Aero 360 ride at Kennywood Park.

“Maintenance staff responded, quickly brought the ride back to its designated rest position, and safely evacuated the riders,” Kennywood general manager Mark Pauls said.

Three riders were taken to the park’s first aid center as a precaution, local media reported. The ride remained closed while a safety review was carried out. Thank goodness for that!

Kennywood Park is an amusement park located in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, just south-east of Pittsburgh. The park first opened in 1899.

Aero 360 is a giant pendulum "offering a 360-degree experience".
