New luxury five-star resort for Margaret River

Margaret River, the premier wine region in Western Australia, is to get a new five-star beach resort.
Marriott International has signed an agreements with Saracen Properties and Security Capital Australia to debut Westin Hotels & Resorts in Margaret River.
The Westin Margaret River Resort & Spa will be a joint development between Saracen Properties and Security Capital Australia, two of Western Australia's leading property developers and investors. Their vision will be brought to life by architects Christou Design Group.

“Saracen Properties and Security Capital Australia have had a long association with Margaret River and the South West region. The opportunity to partner with Marriott to develop a world class Westin Resort within the heart of the Margaret River region is an opportunity just too good to pass up.” said Jason Potalivo, development director for Saracen Properties.
“Despite the tourism industry currently going through the toughest of times right now, we know it will come roaring back and the appeal of visiting unique natural regions like Margaret River and the South West will be greater than it ever was.”
The region is recognized for its stunning beaches, idyllic climate, tourist trails, plus fine food and wine.
“The Westin brand has more than 230 leading hotels and resorts across the globe, so we are very confident that this trusted name will elevate the profile and appeal of Margaret River for holiday makers, corporate getaways and special events, said Richard Crawford, senior director for hotel development, Australia, New Zealand and Pacific, Marriott International.

Located on the southern headland of Gnarabup Beach, the resort will have views over the Indian Ocean and one of Western Australia's most dramatic coastlines.
When opened, it is expected to feature 120 guestrooms, including 45 spacious suites.
Three on-site dining venues will provide a variety of culinary options, including an all-day dining restaurant, a lobby lounge and a pool bar.
There will be a fitness studio, resort-style outdoor swimming pool and the Heavenly Spa by Westin.
When opened, The Westin Margaret River Resort & Spa is set to complement the currently operating Westin Perth located in the Perth CBD.
