Arting around in Margaret River

Do you enjoy fine food and wine? Are you keen on exploring art trails in lovely countryside?

If you tick both those boxes you might like to visit Margaret River in West Australia from April 25-May 10 for the Margaret River Region Open Studios.

The seventh event in the series sees over 110 artists open their studio doors to visitors, encouraging them to visit and soak up the art.

The 2020 event includes artists such as Wendy Castleden, a painter who creates in her studio just south of Margaret River and Adam Ashdown, who creates one-off prints using a Japanese art form making an impression directly onto fish.

Karl Heusenstamm, a tattoo artist, brings a modern twist on American and Mexican tattoo styles and creates tattoo art for the living room.

Other artists featured include wood craftsman Ian Thwaites, installation artist Britta Sorensen and ceramicist Alison Brown.

Margaret River Region Open Studios Inc is a not-for-profit organisation, administered by a board of professionals, artists, volunteers and contracted personnel whose aim is to promote Visual Arts throughout the region.

Throw in a few winery visits and you have an excellent trip.
