Adelaide Hills sparkle throughout the year

The Adelaide Hills are probably the most accessible wine region in Australia - just a short drive from downtown Adelaide.

The producers in the Hills are extremely active in the wine tourism sector with events held throughout the year.

These are some key dates of public events to be held across Adelaide Hills cellar doors in South Australia in 2024.

MAY 2024 – CHARDONNAY MAY

Chardonnay, May 1-31 2024

Calling all Chardonnay lovers! During May, cellar doors across the Adelaide Hills shine a spotlight on the region’s stunning cool climate Chardonnay wines with a series of special tastings, themed lunches and dinners, special museum wines from the cellar and exciting new releases.

Adelaide Hills Chardonnay Heroes, May 9-10. A special event on the Tasting Australia program. A selection of highly awarded Chardonnay wines are served over a sumptuous three-course dinner. This year it will be held at the charming ‘Fourth Hill Providore’ at Verdun in the Adelaide Hills and hosted by former national wine critic Tony Love. Two sessions are available. JULY 2023 – WINTER REDS

Winter Reds, July 26-28

A weekend of wine, food, and music. This popular long-standing winter festival celebrates the diversity of red wines from the Adelaide Hills. Wine tastings, cosy meals, warm coats, roaring fires, and live entertainment abound.

NOVEMBER 2024 – SPARKLING SPRING

Sparkling Spring weekend: November 16-17.

Spring is the perfect time to indulge in the Adelaide Hills’ best sparkling wines while enjoying sunshine and fresh air. Enjoy bubbly brunches, exquisite bites and masterclass tastings of the fine sparkling wines made in the Adelaide Hills. This year the event will in November, a month later than last year, to benefit from warmer conditions later in spring. Also, it may be extended.

Adelaide Hills Wine Show lunch, November 29
