Melbourne's chance to taste terrific wines free of charge

Andrew McConnell's Melbourne wine bar Cumulus Bar enjoyed such success with last year's City Cellar Door program that the wine tasting is back for a second season.

Each month, Cumulus Up showcases a collection of winemakers from a different region of Australia each month (we've all just missed the Mornington Peninsula).
 .

In addition to the free monthly wine tastings, the Cumulus Up team is also launching City Cellar Door on Tour, with two special wine tasting road trips. Two Winemaker’s Lunch events are also on the cards.

Free wine tastings take place on the first Saturday of each month from noon-4pm. It is a great opportunity to taste interesting wines at absolutely no charge.

Coming up over the next few months are: June 1: Central Victoria; July 6: Gippsland; August 3: Tasmania; September 7: North-East Victoria; October 5: Yarra Valley.

City Cellar Door On Tour will feature a behind-the-scenes guided wine tour to the vineyards of celebrated Victorian producers. Hosted by the Cumulus Up. wine team, the day will include transport to and from Flinders Lane, lunch by Cumulus Inc. and all wine tastings. The cost is $220 per person and dates are August 24: Yarra Valley and November 16: Mornington Peninsula.

Bookings via info@cumulusup.com.au or (03) 9654 9545

The winemakers' lunches will includes a four-course shared menu and matched wines poured by the winemakers. The cost: $85 per person.

Dates are July 20 (featuring Adrian Rodda from A. Rodda Wines and Jono Koerner of Koerner Wine) and October 19 (featuring Jayden Ong of One Block and Moonlit Forest and Matt Harrop of Curly Flat and Silent Way).

  1. HI Winsor,

Thanks for the lovely write up on our event City Cellar Door, we were hoping you might correct an inaccuracy for us, the event has been running since 2015 so this is our 5th year as opposed to our second year, as your post suggests.

Will we see you at Central Victoria on June 1st?

    Kindest Regards,
    Cumulus Up
