New luxury hotel for Perth CBD

Perth is to get a new luxury hotel with Accor announcing that it will open its ninth Art Series hotel in the city's CBD in October 2019.

It will be the first Art Series hotel in Western Australia; a $90 million investment by developer George Atzemis at 900 Hay Street. The building is 27 storeys high.

Dedicated to Australia’s contemporary artists, the fundamental design concept of the 250-room Art Series hotel will draw inspiration from its incoming namesake artist, with custom contemporary furnishings and original artworks and prints adorning the walls and halls of the hotel.

In another first for the state, the art-inspired hotel will also be home to a chic new international food and beverage destination, serving Mediterranean cuisine and cocktails. The venue will be centred around the hotel’s pool area on level one, directly above Hay Street.

Accor Chief Operating Officer Pacific, Simon McGrath, said the opening of this hotel represents the group’s strategic direction to grow the brand.

“This announcement reflects the continued expansion and evolution of Australia’s only boutique hotel brand creating art inspired experiences for guests,” said McGrath.

“This Art Series hotel will be a truly world-class asset, which will help underpin a broader economic contribution to Perth."

The new-build, full-service hotel is designed to appeal to both business and leisure travellers with 250 guest rooms, a signature restaurant with terrace, bar and lounge, ground floor café, swimming pool, gymnasium and a function room.

The hotel is currently undergoing an extensive internal fit-out and remains targeted for completion in September 2019.

Further details, including the hotel’s namesake artist, will be released in the coming months.

The Art Series portfolio includes Melbourne hotels The Olsen, South Yarra; The Blackman, St Kilda Road; The Cullen, Prahan; The Larwill, Parkville; The Chen, Box Hill, along with The Watson in Walkerville, South Australia, and The Johnson and The Fantauzzo in Brisbane, Queensland.
