Vietjet drops bargain fares offer - but only until Saturday

Vietjet, the airline that delivers cheap and cheerful flights between Australia and Vietnam, has just dropped another of its flash sales.

Vietjet is offering travellers discounts of up to 50%* on Eco-class fares across its entire flight network from now until April 18 - the bad news is that means only until Friday.

Aussies can enjoy this deal by applying the promo code VJ50 when booking via www.vietjetair.com and the Vietjet Air mobile app for travel between April 28 and November 30.

Travellers from Australia can fly directly from Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney to Ho Chi Minh City, and from Melbourne and Sydney to Hanoi.

The promotion also allows travellers to book and save on domestic flights within Vietnam, making it easy for Aussies to explore other destinations up and down the surprisingly large country.

Vietjet is also giving away 1,000 SkyPoints to passengers who book flights on its new international routes and register for SkyJoy membership from now until June 30.

These routes include 10 new international routes that Vietjet announced in early 2025 including those connecting major Vietnamese cities to popular destinations in China, India, Japan and Singapore. SkyJoy members can redeem points for exclusive rewards from over 250brands in Vietnam.

Vietnam has become a favourite among Aussie travellers, with its stunning landscapes, rich culture, world-class cuisine, and warm hospitality. The prices are good , too.

Visitors can choose from the beaches of Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Phu Quoc, to the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Ha Long Bay, Ninh Binh, Hoi An, and Hue; from the elegance of Hanoi to the vibrant energy of Ho Chi Minh City.

Discount prices exclude taxes and fees, and public holidays.

Blooming marvellous: a New Zealand treat

They call it Daffodil Season.

New Zealand luxury lodge Otahuna welcomes spring - and marks its re-opening - with a celebration of daffodils in its expansive gardens.

Planted in the late 1800s by Sir Heaton Rhodes, every August and September the Relais & Chtaeaux property's paddocks erupt in bloom as hundreds of thousands of bright yellow flowers signal the change of season.

From August 23-September 20, Otahuna Lodge - located outside Christchurch in a magical setting -offers a "Daffodil Season" special offer for which guests may enjoy a two-night stay (or longer) and take advantage of a host of several inclusions. But luxury doesn't come cheap.

From a complimentary luxe lunch to a private tour of the Lodge's gardens and even a guaranteed upgrade to one of two exquisite Master Suites the additions are impressive.

Inclusions for the double occupancy offers are a guaranteed complimentary upgrade to a Master Suite per availability at time of booking; pre-dinner drinks with canapés each evening'; a four-course, set menu dinner each evening, full cooked breakfast each morning, a picnic or plated lunch with one bottle of premium New Zealand wine and a private guided tour of Otahuna’s historic gardens.

The offer is available from $NZ2400 (incl. GST) per night for a minimum of two nights.

Well we can all dream, can't we?

Pondering where to stay on your next European trip if money was no object?

That's what I was doing when a press release landed that certainly grabbed my attention.

Casa Angelina, which sits high on the cliffs of Praiano on Italy’s Amalfi Coast, reopens for an extended European summer season from March 28 to November 4.

It looks the goods, and has the right pedigree.

A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, Casa Angelina has announced a "Spring Revival Offer" to celebrate re-opening and new guest accommodation and experiences.

I haven't stayed here, but they have good PR operatives and it certainly looks enticing.

Casa Angelina’s Spring Revival Offer is available for a minimum two-night stay from March 28 until May 15 and represents a 10% discount across Romantic, Relaxing and Terrace categories and 15% discount across Deluxe Corner, Grand De Luxe and Suite categories.

Inclusions are full buffet breakfast for two people, a bottle of Casa Angelina Champagne and in-season fruit platter in room on arrival, plus a free upgrade to next room category on availability as well as early check-in/late check out on availability.

This luxury doesn't come cheap. The lead-in rate is 750,00 plus + 10% VAT per night for two people.

The summer accommodation options include new suite Vermarine, with sea views over Positano and Capri.

This suite is part of an ongoing project to craft more spacious accommodation for Casa Angelina’s guests, reducing the total room inventory to 36 rooms and suites.

Coming soon is the property's second yacht, Lady Angelina.

Designed in collaboration with local boat company Apreamare, it is billed as "a floating sanctuary tailored for those seeking a romantic escape along the breathtaking Amalfi Coast"

In other news, executive chef Leopoldo Elefante from Un Piano Nel Cielo at Casa Angelina reopens having gained as Michelin star in the MICHELIN Guide Italy 2024.

Chef-led classes, squid fishing and reservations at the finest restaurants both on and off property are available through the concierge.
