New Sebel set to elevate Parramatta hotel offering

It is not so long ago that Parramatta was regarded as "somewhere out west" by city-centric Sydneysiders.

Now Parramatta is regarded as a business and cultural centre, more so with The Sebel Sydney Parramatta set to open in one of Sydney's fastest- growing locations.

The Sebel Sydney Parramatta is scheduled to begin operations in August.

Developed by Nirskam Group and to be managed by Accor, the new-build hotel will bring an extended-stay offering with 51 studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites, promoted as being "designed for both short and longer stays".

Backed by significant public and private investment, Parramatta is emerging as one of Australia's most important growth centres, with a local economy valued at approximately $28.86 billion, making it the second-largest economy in New South Wales.

This momentum is being fuelled by landmark developments including Parramatta Square, the Powerhouse Parramatta museum project, the redevelopment of Riverside Theatres, and strengthening of transport connections across Greater Sydney.

With the opening of Western Sydney International Airport expected next year, Parramatta is increasingly positioned as a key gateway for business, culture, events and entertainment in the region.

Room as The Sebel will feature high-speed wifi, and in-room casting technology, while self-check-in kiosks will be available. Guest offerings will include in-room dining, a 24-hour fitness centre, communal spaces designed for both work and relaxation, and on-site parking.

There will be an all-day dining restaurant centred on Italian cuisine, as well as a rooftop bar and terrace.

“The Sebel Sydney Parramatta will offer a really attractive extended-stay experience to a destination that is entering an exciting new chapter,” said Adrian Williams, Chief Operating Officer of Accor in the Pacific region.

“Parramatta is evolving rapidly as a centre for business, culture and visitation, and this hotel is well placed to meet growing demand for high-quality accommodation that offers the comforts of home.”

Opening rates will start from $269 per night, with bookings now available at ALL.com.

Western Sydney: all grown up with its party pants on

It is Western Sydney - but utterly unlike the Western Sydney of the past.

There's a new landmark in town after the recent opening of  Cabravale Club Resort.

The destination comes with its own hotel and is being promoted as "Australia's first integrated Club Resort".

The venue is the result of a multi-year transformation that has reimagined the century-old Cabravale Diggers Club.

“This opening is more than a milestone - it's a moment of pride for Western Sydney," said CEO Boris Belevski.

"Cabravale Club Resort represents a new era for our community: a place where people can stay, play and celebrate, right here in the west. We're showcasing what this region is capable of - ambition, energy and heart - and setting a new benchmark for hospitality in Australia.”

Club president Walter Robinson OAM said the opening represented both reflection and renewal.

“Our founders were 20 returned servicemen who built this club on values of service, courage and community," he said. " Those values remain at the heart of Cabravale Club Resort. We've honoured our past while building a future that the whole of Western Sydney can be proud of.”

Located in the heart of Cabramatta, the venue boasts Novotel Sydney Cabramatta - a  140-room hotel with a pool, gym and event facilities.

Dining options include including Magma by Dany Karam, Bistro 1925, District 8, Horizon Asian dining and Poppy Café.

Cabravale Event & Conference Centre is one of Western Sydney's largest event and convention centres, with a 600-seat convention centre also scheduled to open.

Further developments are also planned, including additional restaurants and a new café.

Penrith celebrates its first 5-star hotel

Western Sydney has a new destination hotel with the opening this week of Pullman Sydney Penrith and Western Sydney Conference Centre.

The new $110 million precinct features Penrith's first five-star hotel, a conference and events space, a wellness and fitness centre, and European-inspired Marcel Bar and Bistro with its sister lobby bar, Tori.

The hotel is being billed as a central base for exploring Sydney and the Blue Mountains region.

The fluid, ribbon-like shape of the building is inspired by the nearby Nepean River.

Executive chef Colin Chun will oversee the food vision for the entire precinct, including Pullman Sydney Penrith, Marcel, Tori and the Western Sydney Conference Centre.

Pullman Sydney Penrith has 153 rooms with 24 Junior Suites, 96 Superior Rooms and 25 Deluxe Rooms of various configurations.

"This stunning hotel is a magnificent addition to our portfolio and showcases the essence of Pullman's brand promise, offering an innovative and elevated experience combining comfort, and intuitive service,” said enthusiastic Accor Pacific Chief Executive Officer Sarah Derry.

“We are confident that Pullman Sydney Penrith will elevate the hospitality landscape in the region and provide an unforgettable stay for both business and leisure travellers."

Luxury hotel earmarked for Penrith

Penrith in Sydney's outer western suburbs, is to get a luxury hotel complex.

Accor has signed an agreement with Panthers Group for a new five-star Pullman hotel at the Penrith Panthers precinct.

The 153-room Pullman Sydney Penrith hotel, which is slated to open in the fourth quarter of 2023, will form part of Panthers Group’s transformation of the precinct to create a business and entertainment destination.

Rugby league has come a long way!

The hotel will adjoin the new Western Sydney Conference Centre (WSCC), which remains on track to open in Q4 2023, and will boast a range of onsite facilities, including a restaurant and bar with private dining rooms, along with a ground-floor café.

Pullman Sydney Penrith will service the WSCC, which will host trade shows, exhibitions, seated functions for up to 1,000 people, along with other major events.

Panthers Group chief executive officer Brian Fletcher said: “Pullman Sydney Penrith will be a welcome addition to Western Sydney’s tourism offering and builds upon the existing and upcoming new amenities within the Panthers precinct and the wider Penrith locale. It is part of our ongoing commitment to deliver world-class facilities to the local community. This development will enhance Penrith’s reputation as a world-class event and tourism destination.”

The future Western Sydney International Airport - due to open in 2026 - is a 30-minute drive away.

The Accor group also operates Mercure Penrith, which is located adjacent to the Penrith Panthers precinct.
