New identity for Moreton Bay retreat

All change at Moreton Bay, the popular waterfront area just a short drive from downtown Brisbane.

A multi-million-dollar transformation of the former Mercure Clear Mountain has seen the property re-branded as Peppers Clear Mountain by Mandala Hotels & Resorts.

The redevelopment included guest rooms, dining and event spaces, and the surrounding grounds.

Set across 20 hectares of bushland overlooking the Glass House Mountains, the 51-room retreat sits above the bay and joins the Peppers collection across Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia.

The Glasshouse Restaurant has two private dining rooms, including one with its own balcony, while events can cater for up to 150 guests.

A dedicated billiard room and newly equipped gym provide additional leisure facilities for guests throughout their stay.

“The transformation of Peppers Clear Mountain marks an exciting milestone for Mandala Hotels and Resorts, Accor, and the entire Moreton Bay community," said Adrian Williams, Chief Operating Officer for Accor in the Pacific region.

"By elevating this iconic property into the region's only five-star hotel, we aren't just opening doors to a new hotel - we're setting a premium new benchmark for Queensland hospitality [ahead of the 2032 Olympic Games].

"As we look toward the arrival of the world's greatest sporting event, we are entering a golden era of growth. Tourism demand is surging, flight capacity is rising, and the energy in the market is palpable."

Gemma McCourt, Chief Operating Officer for Mandala Hotels & Resorts, said: “Peppers Clear Mountain marks a confident and deliberate investment by Mandala Hotels & Resorts into one of Queensland's most naturally compelling regions, elevating the property with a renewed focus on the experiences today's travellers seek."

Peppers Clear Mountain offers stays from $309 per night (which, to be honest, seems a little steep), including breakfast for two. To book, visit ALL.com or see https://peppersclearmountain.com.au/

Big week for hotel investment group

It has been a big week for the Elanor Investors Group, which boasts a hotel portfolio that includes Adelaide's popular Mayfair Hotel and Tasmania's iconic Cradle Mountain Lodge.

First its head of Hotels, Tourism and Leisure, Marianne Ossovani, announced the completion of the acquisition of Chateau Yering in the Yarra Valley, located next to the Yering Station winery

"We are delighted to welcome Chateau Yering to the Elanor Hotel Accommodation Fund," Ossovani said.

"This iconic property in the stunning Yarra Valley brings its rich history and timeless charm to our growing portfolio."

The 32-room hotel accommodation is surrounded by landscaped heritage gardens, which were in part overseen by Melbourne Royal Botanic Gardens founder Baron Ferdinand von Mueller.

Then came news through HM that Elanor Investors Group has been given the green light for a new 142-room hotel in the Moreton Bay town of Redcliffe in south-east Queensland.

Moreton Bay Regional Council approved the proposal for an eight-storey hotel above Bluewater Square Shopping Centre.

The centre was purchased by the ASX-listed Sydney-based group in 2017.

Plans for the new hotel include a rooftop bar, dining and function space as well as a swimming pool with views of Moreton Island.

Established in 2009, Elanor Investors Group currently manages over AU$2.7 billion worth of real estate investments across Australia and New Zealand.
